From the T&FN Message board:

Miles cleared 5,55m on his first, Stevenson on his second. Miles had a bad brush with the bar at 5,65m, but it stayed on the uprights, and he:s still in the lead. Löbinger and Jeng also now over 5,65m.

Börgerling, Lobinger and Miles all missed first attempts at 5,75m. Jeng just did as well, not even making it up to the bar on his first attempt.

It was such a high quality evening for the packed stadium of spectators (official number 8161) that a good level Pole Vault was almost overlooked. Four made 5.65m and Derek Miles who was the only one without misses so far clinched a decisive victory by his 3rd time clearance of 5.75. At age 35 Miles seems to be vaulting as well as ever.
