"I don't know how many of our members subscribe to Mirko Jalava's world deep lists site at <tilastopaja.com>. Those who do will know that his is the most complete track stats site on the web. From the standpoint of vaulting, for example, he currently lists marks, placings, venue and date for 662 men (4.90m and over) and 761 women (3.60 and over) in the 2007 outdoor season, as well as providing a file of bios and yearly result summaries for each vaulter who has appeared on the lists since 1996, when he began these studies. I have been careful not to copy any information about individual vaulters from Mirko's lists because these are available only to subscribers, but I have asked his permission to forward to PVP his current summaries of the number of top-100 vaulters from each country and the rankings and marks of the best for each country. With many thanks to Mirko, here are what his summaries show:

Mea culpa. When I wrote to Mirko on the 25th to ask permission to post to PVP, I sent him the message exactly as I intended to post it--including his top-100 summaries as I had them as of that morning. I even remarked that the most-alert readers would be pleased to see that the men's list included Liu Feilang's 5.71 NR for China of 20 July.

Then, when I received his permission for copying, I sent the message to PVP as I had sent it to him, and failed to update the data for July 28. When I checked the July 27 version of his summaries after receiving the above reply on PVP, Ecker's 5.87 of July 25th had been added, ranking him #4 on the current list.

Today’s list of countries with two or more vaulters in the top 100:
