I dunno if the webcast has been on for awhile or not. It was listed as 2:00 ET, and I just got on, but the wPV has obviously been going for awhile. Here's the current standings with just Isi and Badurova still going.

Not that we're seeing any of the wPV on the webcast yet, except in the background of the "one hour run action" (talk about your basic oxymoron).

Badurová is out now after Isi passed at 4.71, so Isi's already the winner.

BTW - Badurová's 4.66 is a new Czech NR.

Edit: Isi just missed at 4.80.

Another miss at 4.80, and the live scoring now indicates she's passing to 4.86.

Actually, what's the rule on this? Badurová cleared 4.66 on her third attempt while Isi cleared 4.66 on her 2nd attempt at that height, but she'd missed one at 4.61 before passing.

Yikes, Isi missed again (at 4.90), so she's done. :crying:

So I'm not really sure but I think Badurová's the winner, and certainly Stacy's meet record of 4.83 will stand.

Flash quote:
Yelena ISINBAYEVA (RUS)

Neviem, v com bol dnes problem. Bolo mi len trochu chladno. Chcela som skocit viac, ale nevyslo mi to. Divaci boli vyborni. Este stale pracujem na technike, musim sa s nou viac zzit. Nebudem robit nijake zmeny, iba ju budem vylepsovat. Snazim sa stale hladat sama seba. Nemyslim si, ze som dnes s vynechavanim pokusov riskovala. Pred majstrovstvami sveta ma caka este niekolko sutazi a verim, ze budem skakat stale vyssie.

I do not know why I jumped so bad. I was a little bit cold. I wanted to jump more and beat the world leading mark but I was not able do that. I still work on my technique. I will not do any changes I will continue in improving my technique. I still try to find myself. I dont think I risked today with skipping some heights. Before the WCH I will participate in few competitions so I believe I will jump higher.

Hmmm. Long after the event is actually done, WCSN (really the Czech broadcaster) is now showing the gals jumping at 4.40. We've seen Howe, Rogowska and Spiegelburg miss.

Update: A quick glimpse of Isi after coming back from commercial before showing Badurová's 4.61 clearance.

Another update: Between the 110H heats they showed Isi's 4.66 clearance.

And now Badurová's 4.66 NR clearance! A brush, but it stayed up! :star:

Badurová's first shot at 4.71 was pretty good, taking it off on the way down. Her second attempt was pretty poor though.

Her third shot wasn't quite so good either. Now they're showing Isi's first shot at 4.81. She plowed into it on the way up.

Isi's second attempt at 4.81 was even worse I think, and she clearly wasn't happy with it.

Hmmm. Maybe the whole webcast is taped, 'cause they just showed the steeplechase and showed one of the officials having to chase Isi off the track to avoid being hit.

Now they showed her shot at 4.90, but it wasn't too good either. :(

Oh well. Hope it's warmer in Paris next week.

Thanks to Pego, a Czech ex-pat over on the T&FN board, here's Katerina Badurová's flash quote in English:
I felt great, I could easily jump again. I felt so good that I chose the stiffest pole I have. It was still too soft. I thought of breaking the record at other meets, but I am happy to break it here. It bothers me that I did not make the first attempt at 471, I had a small technical error there. I wanted to correct it in the next two jumps, but I was overmotivated.

BTW, a different page of quotes from Ostrava adds another line to the end of what Yelena said:
I am not satisfied with todays result, but that is how it works in sports (crying).
:crying:  :o :rose: :D
