The men's pole vault wasn't the German show that it was originally billed as. Jeff Hartwig (USA) won with 5.70m ahead of Germanys Björn Otto (5.70) and Tim Loninger (5.65). "I guess this will be my last indoor season, so I am just enjoying it. I know that it wasn't a very good competition but I just arrived from New York and am a little tired," said Hartwig.
