Help! I've only got 2 weeks

Ok here's the deal. I'm just getting over having pneumonia for two weeks and those two weeks were the first two weeks of outdoor track practice. I have my first meet on march 21st and I am going to start practicing on Monday. I haven't vaulted since January but during the off season before I got sick I was lifting so I'm not in awful shape. Now what exactly should I be doing with the little time I have left in terms of training? (strength, speed, etc.) The other question I have is that my new pole came in during the off season. I went from a 12' 140 to a 13' 145. I was gripping at the top of the 12' 140, how high should I start my grip when I start practicing with the new pole?

same grip. maybe one fist up if you feel confident.

I think the best thing you can do is start a fresh cycle of training and dont worry about that first meet. You will jump what you can at that first meet, but its not like its nike outdoor, you still have all season. Dont change your cycle to include every single meet, only the very biggest ones. So keep with the lifting, run 2 times a week and vault the days you dont run.

In regards to your grip on the new pole... Whenever I have moved up a pole in length (13-14, 14-15, 15-15'7) I have always done the same thing. Match your grip on the new pole with your grip on the old pole, then go up one. I never did this because of confidence, it was just routine.
Good luck gettin ready for that meet.
