auto correcting drills

Unread postby Barefoot » Thu May 12, 2011 4:56 pm

Altius had a brilliant post on the adv. tech forum on the topic of the 6.40 model. What caught my eye in his post was the use of self correcting drills vs the use of cues to teach the vault.

Over the past few years I have become a big fan of a few of these drills. I'm particularly partial to 6 step take-offs (sand and regular pit), and stiff pole vaulting from a common run/grip and at a common bar (my common measurements are borrowed from DJ's "list"). The 20/20 drill is semi-self correcting, as is grass vaulting.

Do other coaches have any particular favorite self correcting drills?
