Should I try to bend?

Unread postby mcminkz05 » Wed Mar 19, 2003 8:01 pm

alright i got a problem. i got a invitational meet in a few days. i have been straight-poling 8 feet, and we have no pits, so i havnt been able to actually vault. but iv been working on my form, and doing pole drills, and me and my coach think i could bend the pole and keep decent form, but i havnt been able to practice it. the opening height for the meet is 10-0. do you think i shud try to bend , and jump bending with only an hour of practice, or just try to straight-pole the 10 feet, which is 2 ft above my pr. i would appreciate any help, or ur opinion!

Since you don't have mats and the opening is way above your PR, try and look at this as more of a chance to get practice.
