Another beginner in the "real world"

http://youtu.be/3H9bNj-WrWY This is a 14 year old youngster that has been working on some aspects of the PB technical model. He pulls the sweep leg in and is totally aware of it now. He is ready to work towards getting it right. More progress from "real world" vaulters in the future.

Get him to steer his hips a little more to the right.

And get him to do that without applying any pressure to the pole with his hands! :)

I have told the kids not to swing around the pole. Not sure about swing path adjustments.

Looking good! Just work on the high bar - emphasising left leg = then long swings onto the pad - ditto - then stiff pole over a bar off 6 or eight steps - same focus. The inversion is the most difficult phase for beginners to begin to master. Just don't give many pieces of information - cues - just let them jump at bars gradually increasing in height.

Do you ever get the feeling that we are wasting our time coaching in the 'real' world. No one else seems to be interested in it!

Make sure he gets his left elbow in so he can swing up more.

Thanks for the suggestion, however the left elbow will take care of itself. One of the more experienced experts enlightened me to the Warmerdam videos and the position of the left arm. It didn't seem to limit his swing.
