Using larger poles

I haven't been able to find any post on this, and i know technique is the more important, but what is the key to moving up poles, or what determines how big of a pole you can use? I know speed is a large factor, but what else?

Speed, weight, grip, technique, height, head wind, tail wind, cold, hot, take off step, pumped up, not pumped up.

good morning
The more force (speed) transferred at the plant the higher the potential grip…
The higher the grip the more potential you have to jump higher…
It is proportionate based on your ability to "move" a specific grip to vertical and land safely in the pit.
The "technique' that works "with" physics involves a run that is as fast as you can run AND complete an efficient plant that’s has a "high" top hand reach just before the tip of the pole hits the back of the box, a vertical "impulsed" takeoff WITHOUT slowing down on the run to do so…
