"Row" the pole

Unread postby zachwinters156 » Thu Mar 17, 2011 6:03 pm

I have one coach that says to "row" the pole while swinging in order to keep the pole moving forward through this phase. My other coach says not to. Which is correct?

What he may be asking for is continual pressure down with the top hand during inversion. On the other hand if you are new to this event, he may be getting a little ahead of where you currently are technique wise. Later...........Mike

Rowing as if in a canoe, not a row boat.
Check this video of Hooker: http://www.flotrack.org/speaker/726-Ste ... ht-Workout
He uses gravity boots and hangs upside down. About 4 minutes in....

If it didn't shine through: I agree with Souleman, that if you are new to this event, should you focus on something completely different for now (transferring energy to the pole, and not letting it bleed out after the take-off).
