Just a friendly reminder we are preparing for the second annual Vault For Moa pole vault competition and fundraiser. Last years was a huge success and a wonderful Tribute to Somoa Fili II who died in a tragic pole vaulting accident in 2002.

Although nothing can bring him back his memory and impact on others should live on by continually finding ways to significantly reduce the risk of injury in pole vaulting, especially on the amateur level.

As a tribute to Somoa, pole vaulters are coming together to showcase their talents and to raise funds to buy the safest equipment possible for high schools that struggle financially to meet the demands of the rules.

Last years event was a huge success. Thanks to the overwhelming help of our community, we were able to purchase a brand new ESSEX brand landing system for Wichita East High School. The positive first step to reducing the risk of injury to our young athletes and preserving one of the most exciting sports in the world.
