Indiana State Fair Vault 2003

Unread postby PVJunkie » Wed Jun 25, 2003 10:03 am

The Date - Friday Aug 15th

STATE FAIR GENERAL INFORMATION
We will run this competition in a very relaxed manner. The times are not flexible, but as in the past if there
is some free time you may jump as much as you like. It is up to you to determine what competition you will be
competing in and be on time for that event. My #’s are good but no so over whelming that I need to assign you
an event (The opening heights are flexible except for the Elite Men). Watching is Free, Participating is $15,
this entry fee gets you into an awesome competition.

The high school/Masters competition will begin promptly at 12:00. Opening height will be determined by the
field. The height increments will be adjusted to accommodate a 3:00 finish time.

The women’s elite competition will begin at 3:30 (Warm ups will be allowed during the last ½hour of the masters competition with great respect to be paid to the competing athletes). Opening height will be determined by the field. The height increments will be adjusted to accommodate a 5:00 finish time.

The mens elite competition will begin at 5:30 (Warm ups will be allowed during the last ½ hour of the women’s elite competition with great respect to be paid to the competing athletes). The opening height will be no lower than 4.60m (15' 1").

Directions to the state fair grounds in Indianapolis:
Take whatever major highway you need to get to Indy (if you can’t find Indianapolis
then you don’t need to be vaulting in this event!!). Use the 38th street entrance, it is
the closest to the site of the competition.

From I-69: Take state road 37 south (I-69 turns into 37), at the point where 37 and
38th street become the same road the entrance to the fairgrounds will be on your right.

From I-65: Take 30th street east, turn left (north) onto Meridian (also known as 31),
turn right (east) on 38th street (also known as 37), the entrance to the fairgrounds will
be on your right.

From I-70: Take I-65 north to 30th street east, turn left (north) onto Meridian (also
known as 31), turn right (east) on 38th street (also known as 37), the entrance to the
fairgrounds will be on your right.
Thanks for all your cooperation and support.

If you are coming to the fair............

1. email me your age and entry height (best jump in the past yr)
2. include a mailing adress and the # of tickets you need (they only get you into the fairgrounds.....thats it)
3. EVERYONE MUST BRING A SIGNED WAIVER. Yes even if you are old and mom dosent have to sign it.....the fair requires me to have one before you can vault.

WARNING: This event is run by me for everyone............HOWEVER, if I feel you are unsafe and stand an unacceptable risk of injury I will refund your $$ and you will NOT vault in my event. I persoanlly have been present and witnessed 1 death and 1 very scary head injury in less than a yr and a half. SO please do not become upset if (I will have help in making this decision) you are asked to only be a spectator.

Yes, it is open to all. I do not allow some drunk cowboy (no offense to the boys comin up from tx) jump on the runway and "can I try that.....do I have to put down my beer", who walks up and thinks it looks cool. If you are a vaulter, and show up to vault, its all good.

i have a question about the divisions in the competition.
is the high school/masters division both men and women?
or is the women's elite the only women's division?
thanks

WELLLLLL in the past I have never had enough women competitiors to justify more than one womens div. Soooo as it stands right now all the women will jump in the one "elite" div. Hopfully someday that will change, of course then I will have to start even earlier!!!

Lets do both. I don't care which type we do either. Smallest fish buys the beer. Opps shouldn't said that I only catch fish once in a blue moon.
