2007-08 Winter POLE VAULT CLASSES

Hello Everybody,

Here is the information on Skyjumpers Connecticut's Winter Pole Vault Classes. For additional information on our club, see www.skyjumpersct.org.

Skyjumpers Connecticut will be offering Winter pole vault classes at ABC's Gymnastics, 40 Industrial Park Road, Niantic, CT. This is a very nice facility. We have a 90 foot mondo runway, a 1-year-old Gill Scholastic Pit with "National" Standards, and sloped base pads. The ceiling is 20 feet high, and the standards can reach 14 feet without obstruction. It get's a little tricky if we try to place a bungie or bar higher than 14 feet because of a ventilation duct. But so far, there have been no complaints!

We are having a 10-week session, from late November-early February. This time frame basically includes the CT high school indoor track season.

The three classes will run on 10 Tuesdays and 10 Sundays. We will have classes during the schools' Christmas Vacation; but not during the first week of January (when I'll be at the Pole Vault Summit in Reno).

The cost for each 10-class session is $250. If you sign up for both Tuesdays and Sundays, the cost is $450 (10% discount).

I am planning to limit the number of vaulters in each class to 12. If there are more than 12 vaulters, the space gets too crowded.

In order to participate in the classes, in order to be covered by USATF insurance, vaulters must have a valid 2007 and 2008 USATF membership (www.usatf.org), Be careful because you'll need to renew at the end of December!

Vaulters must be a current member of Skyjumpers Connecticut (www.skyjumpersct.org), and the vaulter's parent must sign a waiver form for ABC's Gymnastics.

Due to the space limitations, slots in the classes will be on a first-come-first-served basis. You can reserve your slot in class by filling out the Application form (see below) and mailing the Application form and check to me.

Checks should be made out to Russ VerSteeg. Mail checks to:
