Stevenson pole vaults six metres!

Sunday 9 May 2004
Modesto, California (USA) - American vaulter Toby Stevenson became the ninth man in athletics’ history to reach the six-metre level outdoors with a magnificent 6.00m jump which easily stood alone as the highlight of Saturday’s 63rd Coca-Cola Modesto Relays (8 May).

it was awesome to watch him vault yesterday. The whole crowd was getting in to it, I've never seen that many people watching the pole vault all at once. It was awesome to see him do as well as he did :D

i'm just pissed i'm going to miss the comp where he is jumping here in phoenix on friday...this comp is awesome, only pole vault, a bunch of elite guys jumping, and get a chance to interact with all of them...i'd love to meet the guy, and see him jump from 20 feet away (thats the way this comp is set up...super close, awesome comp...
