The meet record that Kirillov broke was actually 5.52 by Jordan Scott, the Hy-Tek has the wrong info. :)

Assuming he breaks through to the elite level, I wonder if he'll compete under the Kyrgyzstan flag since he wouldn't have to worry at all about a qualifying meet.

That sounds great until you go broke paying your own way to any international meets you want to compete in, including the Olympics. I don't know anything about Kyrgyzstan, but that is a risk with some of those smaller countries. Just ask Leila how much the Tunisian federation covered for her...
