Athletics: Tickets Available for 2008 Tyson Invitational



FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Tickets are now available for the 2008 Tyson Invitational, set for Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville. The first event begins at 8 p.m.

Reserved seating tickets are $20, general admission tickets are $10 and children under 12 get in free with a paying adult. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.tysoninvitational.org or by calling 1-800-766-4626.

Tickets for the 2008 Tyson Invitational will also be on sale at this weekend’s Razorback Invitational, also being held at the Randal Tyson Track Center. Tickets will be available to purchase from 5-8 p.m. on Friday and 12-4 p.m. on Saturday.

The men’s 200 meters and the women’s pole vault are two of the premiere events this season. Three of the nation’s top pole vaulters, Jenn Stuczynski, Stacy Dragila and former LadyBack April Steiner, will be competing at 8:15 p.m. 2007 World Championships gold medalist, former Razorback and NCAA Champion Wallace Spearmon will attempt to reset his American record of 20.10 in the 200 meters at 9:55 p.m.

Hey, how come there isn't a guys pole vault at this meet? Hasn't their always been a guys invitational also?

Don't think Stacy is going to jump but should still be a great meet. Anybody know who else is jumping Friday night?

Yeah, Stacy is actually jumping Friday at Simplot Games with Jennie Sewell and I am not sure who else.

The women's pole vault features American record holder Jenn Stuczynski, former Lady Razorback and Arkansas record holder April Steiner, Lacy Janson, Jillian Schwartz, Chelsea Johnson and Tracy O'Hara. Stuczynski and Steiner battled last season for the women's vault title with Stuczynski eventually setting the Randal Tyson Track Center record with her clearance of 15 feet, 5 3 / 4 inches.
