Rain, rain go away...

they are warming up now but it's wet out there. Chances of rain delays today are high.

Stacy is out. She is having more achilles problems and it sounds serious.

I am going to do my best on the live updates, but if it keeps raining off and on like this (which it will), I don't have any way to keep my laptop dry.

It is in the media tent which is close to the pit, so I will run back and forth as needed.

The girls are trying to keep warming up, it's raining pretty darn hard though.

Oh yeah and it's a straight headwind.

What I heard was that they told the girls they could turn the pit around if they unanimously voted to turn it around. One person voted to keep it the way it was, so there it stays.

Still pouring and they have not covered the pit or anything. There's no lightning, therefore no danger to the athletes

The girls are just huddled under the tent trying to keep their poles dry.

They are getting started on the races. They have not officially delayed the pole vault, but the announcer said it is undetermined when it will start.

Still no covering of the pit. Someone is gonna get soaked. The officials are trying to squeegee the runway, a rather futile effort.

OK now it has eased up a bit, the girls are coming out of the tent.

The rain has eased off, just a sprinkle now. I still can't take the laptop out, but I will run back and forth.

They are warming up again, not sure when it is going to start.

ONE PERSON'S vote is making everybody run into a headwind?! That's just crazy! How about a simple majority or even 2/3? But requiring a unanimous vote to turn the pit around is just plain insane.

Where's the justice in that?

Yes, but how brave is that to be the one dissenter! She must jump really well in headwinds
