2nd Annual Crawfish Street Vault

Unread postby Carolina21 » Tue Apr 01, 2008 6:40 pm

Hello Vaulters,

I am trying to gauge the amount of poeple who might be interested in coming to jump at the South Carolina Crawfish Festival in Columbia, SC on May 3rd, 2008. In order for us to host the vault again we need to be sure there will be enough participants: HS, College, and Elite.

For the Elites we are ESTIMATING a prize pool of approximately $1,000. This is not definate yet, but there should be some prize money so I want to see who might be interested. I think everyone had a very good experience last year if you want to know what the meet was like Paul Litchfield, Daniel Ryland, Mitch Greely, Mark Johnson, Brian Mondeshein were all there along with many other people from PVPower and can probably speak to how much fun it was. Thanks you in advance for any info about who would definately come to the meet.

as for the meet. it was an awesome meet last year (despite me jumping like garbage). it was really fun and i think everyont had a great time

just a quick question... why is it so early this year? or is that just when the festival is happening this year?

Sorry Brian,
I didn't take the time to spell check. Yes, unfortunately the festival is scheduled for May 3rd and so the vault will be May 3rd. They have to pick a date that will maximize attendance from the local population so they can pay all the bands, performers, etc.

It was an awesome meet. Great crowd, conditions, and athletes. We had a blast last year. Wish I could make it out again. But I'm not in that area this year, and its a whole lot of travel. If you can get there I highly recomend it! Best of luck with the meet guys.

Prize money as follows:

1st: $500
2nd: $250
3rd: $150

According to the guys running the vault this prize pool could increase, but will at least be at the above levels.

Entry fee will be $40.00 and this should include your entry into the festival. I would guess many may say $40.00 is high, but there is a huge amount of work to pull this thing off as well as we did last year and it takes money to host a nice meet. Most College meets cost $25-30 and I can promise the extra $10 you pay here is well worth the level of fun you will have at the street vault.

Lastly,
The website is not updating correctly at the moment so for now we will be taking entry fee's at the meet the day of; however, if you know you will be attending please send an email to:
byocum10@hotmail.com

Please inlcude:
Name
PR in within last year
A Phone # you can be contacted at in case we need to reach you for schedule updates, etc.

I will continue to post updates as I gather the information.

We will have a website up for entries very soon, we apologize for delays in our entry website. Please still send entry info to:
byocum10@hotmail.com (or you can send me a PM or email chrissteddum@hotmail.com) after you have paid via our paypal site which should be up by the weekend.

I will post the event web registration as soon as it is up and working. We would prefer online entries if possible.

We will accomodate openning height in the open women and mens sections so vaulters of all levels can clear a bar.

SO PLEASE CHECK THIS THREAD OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS FOR ENTRY UPDATES!!
