The third annual Texas Pole Vault Roundup and Corral will be Jan 6&7 this year. This year on Friday night we will have a clinic at the Elite Sports complex and have all competitions at Joshua High School on Saturday. The Friday night clinic will feature some brief lectures and demonstrations by McNeese coaches Tye Sevin and Jim Davis, Arkansas coach Brian Compton and others. Then there will some stations set up for learn by doing drills for all vaulters. There will be a meal after the learn by doing session and time to visit and ask questions. Saturday we have a tentative plan of 10-12 divisions on 4 runways at the Joshua High school indoor. Stay tuned to www.elitesportz.com/ or www.texaspolevault.com for more details. Last year we had 130 jumpers and are looking for more this year.

No poles needed on Friday night at Elite Sports complex. We will have about an hour of lectures and demonstrations and then about an hour of learn by doing drills. The drills will be running, rings, ropes, bungees and plant drills so we do not need everyone to bring poles. Saturday is looking like 9 divisions on three runways at Joshua. Once the pre-registration is closed we will post divisions. Thanks.

The Roundup was a blast once again. HUGE thanks to the organizers, George Rodriguez, John Rhodes, Craig Bethel, and everyone else who helped with setting up, tearing down, officiating, and bartending. Look forward to doing it again next year.

Hopefully George will have the results up soon at www.elitesportz.com

Hope everyone had a good time and got in a good early competition. Tons of people helped but I must thank Brian Elmore, Phil and Nita Wilson, Nikki Hyles and Dean Lancomb for officiating. Also thanks to all the jumpers who put on a great show and are always fun to be around. Coach Bethel has two more competitions planed in the building, one Jan 28 and the other Feb 11.
