What a great event and facility...I sure wish we had something like this when I was in college! It was great to actually jump again and it makes me sort of want to train a little.....but then again the soreness I am feeling today makes me think twice about it! I think after jumping Sat. I actually realized I AM 43 years old after all. Thanks to everybody for all the uplifting words and cheers and making me feel ok jumping with the college kids......wish I could have done better.....

Thanks again for letting me particpate....

Brian Clark

Congrats and welcome Brian. Sorry I missed you. I had to get back to Houston early for a family health issue.

John Seto at Masters Rankings corrected your metric to reflect 14' 6" which is 4.42m. I think it had been submitted as 4.46m which is 14' 8".

GREAT job and hope to see you in Belton on 1/2. Bubba

For those that don't know, Brian Clark is the son of 1960 Olympian Dave Clark. I told him (Brian) by email today that I vaulted in his backyard with his dad coaching me about the time he was born when I went to Dallas for the Texas Junior Olympics. Small world. Bubba

That is one thing I ALWAYS remember about my dad....he was always offering help to vaulters...either coaching in person, on the phone or selling them poles. We would have at least 20 vaulters show up at our house every Sunday from around the country. When I turned 40 I ask him how it was that my brothers and I jumped on fiberglass and carbon poles, ran off tarten runways and landed in soft big foam pits but yet we have bad shoulders, bad backs and have trouble getting out of bed every morning and yet he jumped on big metal poles, ran on asphalt and cinder runways and landed in SAWDUST and yet he can still run marathons and has no trouble at all.....he said to me the answer is easy....I leaned and listened in to hear this medical explanation.....his response was "I am a better athlete than you"....
