Bill was another of our best Pacific Association Officials. He was a Master Level Official and had worked the last 4 Olympic Trials. He's another one I will miss.

EDGAR, William Hart
1933-2009


Born August 28, 1933, Red Bluff, California. He passed away peacefully April 26, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. He died of Lymphoma at age 75. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Jerome Edgar & Mary Hart Edgar. Survivors are his wife, Phyllis of Carmichael; sons, John of Duxbury, Massachusetts, Steven of Citrus Heights & daughter Suzanne Medrano of Sacramento. He also leaves his sister Mary Zinselmeir of Melbourne, Australia; 5 grandchildren, Colin, Duncan & Malcolm of Duxbury, Forrest & Autumn of Citrus Heights; a niece, Paula, and a nephew, John; 3 stepchildren, Stephanie, Robin & Eric and a step-granddaughter, Rachel. Bill graduated from Red Bluff High in 1950. He then attended UC Davis before enlisting in the Army from 1955-1957. He completed his University studies at Chico State in 1959. He later attained his Master's in Mathematics from the University of Oklahoma in 1969. Bill taught & influenced the lives of many children and adults over his long and successful career. He worked at Wheatland High, West Sacramento High, San Juan High and for many years was a Professor of Mathematics at American River College. Bill was also a USA Athletics Track & Field Official, a NCAA Track Official and a supporter of American River College Athletics. He had been an Official at the last four Olympic Track & Field Trials. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of their choice in his memory. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 3 at 1:00pm at Christ Community Church, 5025 Manzanita Ave., Carmichael. (916) 344-2382. Private Inurnment.
