ATTENTION MASTERS VAULTERS - Bubba Sparks will be hosting the first annual Masters Pole Vault Symposium and Meet on Saturday, June 28, 2014 in Dana Point, California. Yes some may have to travel but remarkably nearly 2,000 vaulters and coaches find their way to Reno each year. Where would you rather go? Reno in the winter or the beach in Southern California in the summer? Discussions on training, technique, equipment and injury management will be 9-noon, with a meet to follow at 1. BBQ and party at my house afterwards. Dana Hills High School always has an afternoon tailwind and summers at the beach are not hot. Cost of entry - $0 - NADA - NOTHING!! Thanks Bruce and Doug!! We will make announcements here as well. The plan is a Friday evening social at my house before the event Saturday. Elite coach Mike Bartolina has been added as our lead instructor as well as two time Olympian from Australia, Simon Arkell (5.80m/19' 1/4").

That's awesome! I'd love to go, unfortunately, I'll have to wait until 2015 as I have a conflict that weekend. I hope it is a huge success so that it continues for years to come. I wish it were a couple of weeks later (or earlier) in the year.

This was an absolute great weekend. The symposium in the morning presented some great insight and conversation. The afternoon 2 pit competition was an absolute hoot as well as a darn good event. The feature "buy a jump for $10" was a big hit. C-Ram, Herge and the rest of the Foster officiating crew was awesome and kept the whole competition moving along and very entertaining. This was the first annual. That being said, make plans now to attend the 2nd annual next year. You won't be sorry.[img][/img]
