What are some of the coaching changes coming up for next year?

Here are a few I know:

CS Fullerton: Coach Kamaka gone to Mt. Sac (he will be coaching jumps there, Yokayama will still be coaching PV there). BJ Vandrovec will coach the vaulters next year (yay BJ!!!)

Lindenwood: Lane Lohr gone. Nothing finalized yet on his coaching situation next year. The latest word is that LU's throws coach is going to try and coach the vaulters next year. Ummm OK.

Ohio State: ??? I heard rumors they were going to completely change their coaching staff, but I guess it depends on who the new head coach is.

They combined the programs. One coordinator now. They are still looking for a new vault coach though.

Walt Drenth was named the Track Coordinator and will no oversee both programs.

Randy's services were not continued beyond one year. Overall a fresh start for the program.

What does coordinates the pole vault mean?

UC Davis

Byron Talley, who finished his second season on staff for his alma mater, has been elevated to assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator for the two track and field teams. The Aggie record holder in the 110-meter high hurdlers, he works primarily with the hurdles crew and coordinates the pole vault.

I bet that means he overseas the vaulters' training while not getting directly involved in the technical stuff. UCD has an assistant to watch the kids jump, last I heard.

That would be Trevor Boler. The former UCD coach is Bob Olsen, who lives in Fairfield.

Chris Bostwick, formerly at Miami of Ohio, took the Michigan State job (men and women). Now Miami is looking for a vault coach.

He was one class away from finishing his masters, so he is doing that this summer.

It is still undetermined what he is doing this fall. Some things are being worked on, if they go through could be really good for a lot of vaulters, but it is still all up in the air.
