ISU: Do what you do
By Ryan Divish - Journal Sports Writer
Idaho State University pole vaulter Levi Keller muscles his way to the bar to clear 17 feet Tuesday afternoon at Davis Field. Keller, along with other ISU track athletes, are busy practicing for this today's NCAA West Regionals in Provo, Utah. Journal photos by Joshua Duplechian
POCATELLO - Levi Keller can only wish the NCAA West Regional were held a few days earlier. On a sun-kissed Tuesday at Davis Field, the Idaho State pole vaulter was having one of his best days of his career.
As he rocketed down the track, planted the pole into the vault pit and catapulted himself skyward, gliding cleanly over the bar and eventually splashing down on the cushy mats, Keller screamed in ecstasy having just set a new personal record of 17 feet, 3/4 inches.
Unfortunately, it was only practice.
