Skyler Reising displays the type of versatility that most athletes and musicians can only dream of.

Reising is a multi-event athlete for the Nebraska track and field team competing in the indoor heptathlon and outdoor decathlon, while performing as the lead singer of a rock band and balancing a full slate of class work.

The Lincoln native usually begins his day with class from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. with an hour lunch break sandwiched between classes.

Then it’s off to track practice, where the redshirt freshman works in all seven areas, consisting of three running events (the 100-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash and 800-meter run), two throwing events (the javelin and shot put) and two jumping events (the high and long jump).
