Yeah Brian, we jumped there last year, and a few of the VMI guys were there. I'm not sure if they were using 5.0 m poles, although I think that one of them was, but they were having to run with there poles a little more parallel to the ground in order to avoid hitting the duct work above the pole vault runway. The ventilation becomes a non-issue at least 30 or maybe 40 feet out, but most people would not start from anything less that 60 feet at a minimum. Anyway hope that helps...The ceiling opens up around the pit so no real problems there just around the runway, it didn't seem to affect the jumping there too much last year, and the runway seemed fast to me compared with some of the other ones we jumped on (probably not blazing fast when compared to Tech's). Good luck jumping. See you around.

You could just push the pole down the runway. Then low ceilings would not be an issue.

Just kidding :P

the runway is fast but part of the ceiling is a little low, they are workin on this. I like jumping there and reccommend it. Email the liberty coach if you want to know exactly what size pole will fit. I would love to see some good competitors come to some of the meets.

yeah i talked to one of my buddies who jumped there, theres about zero chance of me jumping there now im afraid. i used 5.0 poles - 5.10 poles, plus im taller so my tip probably gets close to 18 or 18.5 feet, and from what ive hear the ceiling is about 16. i did hear the runway is nice if they can renovate some of the substructure for the ceiling

This reminds me of the old Disney movie, I think it was called "The World's Greatest Athlete". The guy vaults indoors, goes up and through the ceiling, comes back down creating another hole and lands in the pit. He set the indoor and outdoor record according to the storyline.
