He's a good coach and very knowledgable. He is a personal trainer and a body builder so he's freaken ripped :dazed:

He also holds the HS record for the state of wisconsin. Vaulted for U of Wisconsin too.


I'm glad to see he's coaching. Tell him he has to get back to WA this summer for the 4th of July vault.

My coach at Central Missouri State University is Kip Janvrin. Having a coach who's an olympian and a world record holder can be a little rough sometimes...but he is amazing.

i officiated the last chance meet down at emporia state last year and kip was compeating... i was like "need a run through?" 'cause he was doin' 24 other events while we started, and we were at like 4.80 when he got there, and then we were plannin' on movin' it up to 5.00, and i thought it was great cause he's like, "nah, i've been doin' this too long to go through somethin' like a runthrough".. (paraphrase) so, the first time he even touched his pole down the runway was in comp.. and like the increadible decath that he is, he went right up and everything was right on.. gotta love it

My coach is Mark Phillips at Cowley County!!!

First meet is at Nebraska University Jan. 13-14.
