PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior multi-event athlete Jesse Chapman and freshman pole vault standout Craig Hunter recorded a pair of first place finishes to lead men’s track and field on day two of the IC4A Championships at Princeton, New Jersey. Four other Huskies also qualified for final events, which will take place tomorrow on the last day of competition.

Posting a height that matched his record-setting numbers from last week was freshman pole vaulter Craig Hunter. The rookie, who set both the New England Championship and UConn school pole vault record last weekend in Massachusetts, provided an encore performance on Saturday in New Jersey. He once again cleared 5.30m (17-04.50) for his second gold medal finish in as many weeks to claim his first-ever IC4A crown and contribute 10 points to the team total. Teammate Tim Murphy tied for 13th place after clearing 4.80m (15-09.99).
