I don't know if it is Northeast but............... The Akron coach is awsome. I am always hearing good things about him, and you can see it in the way that his athletes perform.

Thanks for the props

Yeah we have a great program...we not only have the head coach who is the pole vault coach as well, but some great Grad Assistants for the pole vault as well. Coach Mitchell knows everything that there is about pole vaulting...I don't think there is a better school in the Northeast for vault. Our heights speak for themselves (well my teamates heights that is)

MIT has two terrific folks: Paul Slovenski is technically the head women's coach but he's the pv guy on staff. He's extremely nice and knows a great deal. At present, Eric Abel is a grad assistant (he's getting his Ph.D. in Physics). Eric was a 17' vaulter at Oregon, and he has a great demeanor and work ethic. Of course, you've got to have fabulous grades and SAT's to consider MIT. But these guys are great, and they've got a fantastic indoor facility.

If your looking to go really NORTHeast try the University Southern Maine...... Coach is Mike Drummey, highest vaulter ever out of the northeast, and had an all american vaulter last year, Snyder, who for the '04-'05 season still has 3 years left to compete.

Jeff Robbins-Airtime Athletics coaches a lot of the vaulters in New England.
He coaches athletes from Wheaton, Brandeis, UMass, and BU to name a few.

in the northeast, coaching is key, considering there are very view, im from New England, and have been coached by john hoogasian since my freshmen year of highschool till now pretty much, also by mike drummey who is now a good training partner and vault coach. i now go to Uconn and have rich miller as a coach, a really good event coach, knows what he is doing and is really involved with what im doing, and loves the vault and seeing me succeed. In New England, best vaulting schools, Uconn of course, because Coach miller, Northeastern cus Brenner Abott's there and he is a good s***, knows a lot about the vault. Holy Cross, the all mighty coach Hoogasian coaches there. Southern Maine, Coach Drummey works there. Those are the top vaulting schools because of coaching, but in new england i have learned that is more up to you as the athlete to get what you want and to succeed. Good coaching is great, but you gotta make a even bigger effort to succeed than the coach helpin you out. New England Vaulting is on the uprise and though isnt at the level yet as the states out west it will be with the vaulters comin up. Especially over here at Uconn, keep an Eye on Uconn, im tellin you
