We will see -however if things pan out as we hope there may be a bit more evidence to support the efficiency of the Petrov/Bubka - with slight modifications - model!!!

Do we really need more evidence. Seems pretty solid to me. It's hard to argue with physics

I think I know who you are talking about and she did a lot of work on her own with camps over the summer to get there.

Every coach wants every athlete to become a student of the sport. Unfortunately, other than some additional opportunities to vault the camps provided, the young lady returned with the same issues she left with after that first season. Last year was a breakthrough year for her and it was a result of her hard work and dedication throughout the year.

There is currently a walk on athlete who did exactly what has been described, who is now on the team (in addition to the triple jumper turned vaulter discussed above). She showed some progress and may eventually, through hard work and dedication of her own, score in the Big 10 championships.

The school being discussed:
Began a womens vault program 8 years ago (in 2004)
Has only ever had one womens vault coach
Has predominately had success with "walk on" vaulters

I can assure you, the opportunity being discussed is real.

Any opportunity to be on a big 10 track and field team, walkon or not, is a big deal.
