University of South Dakota Kyle Ballew jumps 17-4 1/2

For the Coyote men, junior Kyle Ballew set a new school record in the pole vault, while sophomore Cody Snyder (Lake Andes) set a new school record in the shot put. For the Coyote women, senior Kenna Wolter set a new record in the triple jump — for the third straight week — while junior Alexa Duling set a school record in the 60-meter hurdles.
Ballew won the pole vault with an effort of 17-4 1/2 topping the previous record of 17-1 that Sam Pribyl set in 2006. Ballew’s mark is the second-best in the Summit League this season and a personal-best.
