Junior College

Unread postby cody28 » Wed May 25, 2011 8:28 pm

since i'll be attending Ventura College, and doing track, i've wanted to take a shot at pole vault since i think i could be decent at it
however, i have never had experience in high school due to them being cheap and stupid and not having it...heck, the guy who holds the record at the junior college went to the same high school i go to back in the 60's
don't think we've had it for like 30-40 years...

anyway...my question would be: can actually try it or not...?

It's up to the coach at the college, they are the only person that can answer that question for you.

i'm also realizing i have to wait to ask the questions directly
but it's also bugging that they do pole vault...but they aren't specific on who's the vault coach

Ask the head coach.

If you really want to pole vault you should go to Valley . . .

I would have to agree with Wilson. Having jumped for Valley under Brook's Morris's program i can say first hand that it opens a lot of doors (12' 8" in 2008 to 17' 1" in 2011). Not to mention the team as a whole has really come along. The girls 4x 100 won the state meet and an individual state champ in the 100, along with three more top three finishes. If you are willing to make the drive from ventura to the valley i can garauntee that it would be more than worth it.
