From what i've read online Brian is 5-3 130lbs and jumps on either a 14-6 or 15 foot pole.
He gets a huge shot off of that pole, anyone know the weight of the pole by any chance?

Brians dad here - Brian was vaulting on a 15ft 175 carbon pole in that "Minecar" video at Henderson Ky - I must say that the street vault in Henderson is a GREAT place to vault !!! We highly recommend a trip to Henderson !!!

He's fun to watch! I've seen him vault in peron several times over the years. I remember seeing him vault at an outdoor meet in Fayetteville, Arkansas when he was about 13 or 14 years old. He could fly back then! Thanks for sharing the video!

Hey AVC Coach - that trip to Fayetteville was the first time we ran into Morry and his vaulters - Had so much fun vaulting against his kids that we made several trips to Arkansas including the street vault in Hot Springs !!! One of these days if my life ever slows down just a bit, we plan on traveling to vault in your new building - I must say that I have always been impressed at morry's vaulters - they are a true class act - hard working, polite, and really fun to watch. Heck, when I gat to Arkansas maybe Morry can show us how he trains those kids how to invert so quickly !!!!

I will definitely be looking into making a trip out to the street vault it looks like a blast! Thank you very much for the response, your son is one heck of a vaulter. Hopefully i will get to see him vault some time soon, if not over the summer.

olcatapoler - how have you been - missed seeing you at the track meets in 2010 - is that daughter of yours enjoying college life ??

I have been a huge fan of Brian's throughout his Big 12 career, been lucky to watch him jump. I picked him to win this years indoor, didn't quite work out like I picked or Brian wanted but he still jumped great.

I talked to Brian about this personally, and learned that besides being a great guy, he is also an TRAMENDOUS athlete and my new idol haha. He said that he's usually around 140lbs, but at this past NCAA's he was the lightest he's ever been at 135lbs. He would go on to tell me that the biggest pole/grip he's ever had was on a 15'6 180 with a 14'10 grip and his best push-off was 4'8" (17'4 bar with a 13'4 grip on a 14' 180) MONSTER!!!! That might be up there for best push-off ever; does anyone know of anyone that's pushed off higher?? -6P
