New Facility at McNeese State University

Unread postby russvault » Thu Nov 13, 2003 10:50 am

In the past, not many people liked to jump Indoors at McNeese State in Lake Charles, La, but now since I have taken over we finally broke in our new runway indoors and for the first time people were able to use spikes and it is extremley fast. We also have new pits coming in the next couple of weeks and not forgetting about the new track they are installing outdoors by this summer. ALso the track weight room is being replaced with new equipment. Not bad for a smaller school!!! You can't beat the 85 degree weather we have been having!
So Lon Badeaux, you can come back home and Jump again!!!!!!

Keep your eyes on new comers Devin Rodriguez, Tx (16'4"), Donnie Dorsey Tx(16'0), and transfer Ryan Lancon Tx (16'10") who has been excelling in practice already!!!
So look for alot of vaulting meets to be coming in the near future. (Including spring fling in the quad and beach vault during Contraband festivities in May)
thanks russ buller

I'm still sceptical!!!!! HA HA!! No, i'll come check things out over Christmas. We just put in a 2.5 million dollar mondo track complex here, so we are pretty excited too. Hope you guys don't take as long as we did to get the track done, although they built ours from scratch, everything new.

Be sure to keep everyone on this site posted as to the meets/dates that are available to the public. There are a lot of interest in these items. Thanks

Here at Arizona we just got a brand new elevated runway that will run east-west of our track, opposed to the 2 north south runways we currently have. Good bye side winds. At least for practice that is. The runways isnt currently NCAA legal because of is elevation. Hopefully well get it ready for PAC 10's. Which we Arizona is hosting this year.
Just fly high, and KISS THE SKY!!!

Yea things are really starting to turn around for the better down here at McNeese since Russ has taken over. It looks like we will have a great facility to train with. Having the advantage to jump indoors here helps alot too.

Having Russ as a coach is a definite bonus at McNeese. Having them Dorsey kids there might turn out to be a plus also. Go Cowboys!
compete and jump safe, have fun
