Does any company make super durable pole tips? Some that if you slid the pole or did lot's of pole runs that the tip wouldn't go through after a couple weeks? I would buy some tips for pole runs, even if they were no good for actual vaulting.

why not use tennis balls ??? they are cheap and easy to install !!!

YES there is a company out of Huntington Beach CA. The name is Cal Track Reconditioning, I bought a bunch of tips from them and the are great and they are not that much.

When I was sliding the pole down the runway, I found that Gill tips were the best combo of most durable/least friction.

I would also recommend experimenting with tennis balls.

With the tennis ball do you flip them inside out, or leave them normal? Also it seems like they wouldn't slide very well..?? I'll try it.

I've always seen people use them fuzzy side out. They slide great on indoor surfaces. They can be very useful to keep poles from scuffing up gym floors. Not sure which side works better on track surface.

The tennis balls do create a bit of friction on the runway if you're pushing the pole. The pole tips from cal track are pretty durable though. Give them a try!

We do most of out pole runs at out local high school. Our track is not a rubber surface (Micro rocks) so we adapt by doing pole runs on the black top or the side walk in front of the school. When the weather turns bad we move indoors and use the same tennis balls (fuzzy side out) to do indoor pole runs or slide boxes. I have actually never tried to push the tennis balls on a rubber track - sorry if I posted the earlier reply too "quick" as I wasnt even thinking of the rubber track surface

We do our pole runs on our track (Mondo surface) and the tennis balls work fine. No problem sliding on the surface. Why spend a bunch of money on some special pole tip when you can cut a small slice in the side of a tennis ball and cover the tip you already have?
