FOR SALE = a unique piece of sporting art by John Anderson of the USA

After surviving the Vietnam war, where many of his friends were killed, John vowed to live his life to the full. So after returning home he enrolled in college and, with no previous background in track and field, he
presented himself to the coach at San Jose City College, Bert Bonnano. For the next four years he ran as the third string 400 hurdler and a member of the cross country team.

After dabbling in several art forms, John chose etching in glass. This piece links his love of track with his art. Alan bought it at Lake Tahoe while visiting Steve Chappell of UCS Spirit in 1982; incidentally they had been friends since Alan taught Steve to pole vault during the early sixties in England.

In 1984, John drove from Portland to San Jose to meet Alan because he was so pleased his work had been purchased by someone who loved the sport of pole vaulting. Now the time has come to release it to someone else who has the same passion. At $15000 delivered in the US it provides any enthusiast with the opportunity to buy a unique piece with a unique provenance.

An etching in glass approximately 44"x 34" in size, is an absolutely unique piece - the only one ever created and is marvellous to piece to hang in special room.
