I have a bundle of them, brand new from 1974. Make an offer if you have a pain in the back from one...all you saw dust vaulters. Contact Matt Kolb at kolb@hickorytech.net

Those old aluminum crossbars make the best bar "putter uppers".

Just cut off a two foot section with a hacksaw and bend about a 30 degree angle into it. Then tape the bent two foot section to the end of the longer section you cut from (or a new one) to form a "Y" and you've got the best "BPU" (Bar Putter Upper) around. Very durable, lightweight, and practical.

Since you have a "bundle" of them, do it twice...one for each side of the pit. Even the young high school volunteers with no experience that help run track meets can't screw it up. It makes things go much faster. Often times, they don't even have to stand on the pit to put up the bar if you're using two BPU's.

Just a suggestion before you sell them all off.
