Junior Pan Am's Results?

Unread postby vaultguru6 » Fri Jul 18, 2003 10:21 pm

So anyone got the results to the Junior Pan Ams mens vault? It was held today at 6:50 ET. No results anywhere. USATF sucks.

I haven't seen anything :( I should have called Chelo earlier... she's down there. She might still be up, but it is laaate over there. Well that and her cell phone might not work in Barbados.

1 Chiaraviglio, German ARG 5.15m. 2 Souza, Joao Gabriel BRA 5.00m. 3 Wurster, Jason CAN 4.90m. 4 Chiaraviglio, Guillermo ARG 4.80m. 4 Baldwin, Gabriel USA 4.80m. 6 Foley, David CAN 4.70m. Skipper, Tommy USA NH 5.00 XXX

Pretty sad results. Too bad to see Tommy NH, I was hoping for a jump of 5.60+ to put that HS NR away for good. Thats two NH's in a row for him, I'd imagine he's gonna hang it up for the season.

Is that the same Argentinian that won the World Youth Championships? I'd imagine so. Good year for him. Looks like maybe his brother took 4th? Is there a blood relation? If so thats a damn good showing for that family. 2 of the top four Junior vaulters in the western hemisphere living under the same roof. Not too shabby, eh?

Chase Shealy got replaced on the team by Gabe Baldwin. They didn't announce that he wasn't eligible until about a week before the games, but its nice to see that they did get a replacement in.

But over all a disappointing day for team USA in the PV....hopefully our beutiful female duet will step up to the plate Sunday evening. Should be fun to see what they do.

im from England and was just wondering if this competition is similar to the European Juniors? and this is around the usual standard for this competition? because the standard seems pretty low, you need 5m 10cm just to qualify for the European Juniors.

Oops I take that back. I just looked in my TFN and it says that 5.30 equals his PR.

Hey guys,

I am here in Barbados covering the meet for the NSSF. Look for some photos and results via our website: www.nationalscholastic.org.

There is no internet connection at the track (or most of the island it seems) so its sketchy posting stuff.

The conditions were perfect, nice and warm with a breezy tailwind right down the middle.

The girls go tomorrow at 11am. Ill see what I can do to get up the girls vault results....
