Re: Getting up and over
First suggestion....put some padding on that wall!! Second suggestion...try to post a video. Like the previous poster I would tend to think you are pulling up at take off. If nothing else, post a picture at take-off. Its next to impossible to give advise without seeing the entire vault. Third sugges...

Re: Unprofessional coaching behaviour
I don't see a lot of tampering by coaches at the meets I go to here in Michigan. When I see a reputable coach, I'll let my athletes know that that guy over there is such-and-such, he's a great coach. That way if I am not around they know who the good coaches are and who to ask for advice. I am also ...

Re: Concrete/Hard surfaces
My first tactic when I come across a substandard pit is to work up the chain of command. In other words, I make a big stink about it. I'll talk to my head coach to let him know whats going on and to tell the opposing head coach. I'll talk to the opposing vault coach, ask him where I can get ahold of...

Re: Pole got damaged
Why take the chance? $400 vs serious to possible catastrophic injury..... I understand that location of the scratch matters, but seriously, why chance it... Its not repairable, its now a low-grip grill pole. I put a band of red tape around the top of the pole to identify it and pull it out for sand ...

Re: Best way to transport a pole... with a Hyundai Tibron=/
I transport a tube of pole on top of my tiny Dodge Neon all the time. I, first, use a rope tide to the arms of the trunk fairly tight so that the pole bag is at a slight angle. Shut the trunk. Then I tie down the front end to the arms of the hood. Make sure you also tie into the straps for the cap o...

Re: Private Facilities
agreed... Lets put a value to it.... Is it reasonable to pull $50k+ out of a venture like this? Assuming you open it up to other markets (ie rock climbing, baseball, volleyball, etc...) during the outdoor season... It looks like you have put together a truss type system over your pits. Who did you p...

Re: what type of pole should a little but fast jumper use?
yes...depending on flex though. Try them both, but I'd keep the handgrip down at 15. Its a 15lb jump, which is a bit much, but it sounds like the best you've got to work with.

Re: what type of pole should a little but fast jumper use?
a 16' 160 is the same as a 15' 180 at the 15' hand grip.

Re: what type of pole should a little but fast jumper use?
So they are both 15' 180's... I'd go with the 15' carbon...lighter.

Re: Fund Raising to buy poles
We sell advertising space on the fence around the track. I'd also recommend pop can drives! Or hook up with a local restaurant to host a fundraiser.

Re: Private Facilities
Is there enough money in owning a small multi-use facility to be a primary source of income?? I'm looking into getting something set up here, and wouldn't mind any insight. Ideally, I would like to replace my day job with this, but we'll see...
