I started making those 2 years ago... I have made a set of 4 pole bags and 8-pole sleeve socks out of all different material... fade, yes, but I change my tape every season, sometimes twice on a pole we use alot.
moisture not a problem. its good sticky side in or out.

highly agree with Ras... and I like cramer black tape... the white stuff is too soft and cotton feeling, the colored tape has better grip.
