Jan and Jani Johnson Family Home Fire
Ok, as some of you already know we hand an extensive fire in our home early this week. We have had calls and emails from all over. Here is the complete story: Monday afternoon Jani (Chelsea’s Mom) and I were home working in our house. It was her last day off before the new semester began at Cuesta. ...

Re: SafetyMax Box collar
I for one like "A" the best. I think we could slightly open the side angles only. I will build one and try it. I seriously doubt it would look much different than todays standard. But it would obviously offer less surface area for the bent pole to push aginst. If this can improve "cet...

I have often wondered why some kids go to the side after a lined up plant and take off. However i have never thought of of pole pressing the side of the box and pushing the vaulter to the side. Perhaps it would be better is the sides flared out slightly more? But keep the back at 105 degrees? Opinio...

My personal feeling is that the angles are fine the way they are, and that it does not significantly hurt the performan...

Re: SafetyMax Box collar
I agree too!!! But there is no way the NCAA or the IAAF or the NHSF are going to change there rules regarding the shape of the back of the planting box. I think the manufactures have all done a good job of shaping the front bun sections of the pit to the outside edges of the box as it currently is....

Re: SafetyMax Box collar
Kirk is right. Being able to distribute force over a greater area is a good thing. Additionally, being able to slow a falling body down over a greater distance is the absloute key in this equation. Additionally, we need to allow the pole to bend uninhibited, allow the pole to slide down the sides of...
