Some good ways "in general" to see good take off plants/jumps, is watch the best. Go on the internet find some shots of the best vaulters in the world and watch their jump frame by frame, watch how they drop the pole, watch how long they drive before they start to swing, watch how they run...

In General speed is a good thing in the pole vault. HOWEVER, i have seen some slow vaulters, J. Scott, has a slower invert, however he gets everything in line and has so manythings going right for him that he jump huge bars.

Woo Hip Athletics, Yea I have actually seen you vault a hand full of times in person... Your pole carry is very low, in terms of where the pole is in relation to your chest/hips/body and so on. Because a vaulter can not pump their arms like runners do, it is important to keep your arms and pole high...
