Re: How many bungees?
"Voyager Vault" Created by Dale Deery. Google it. Rick Baggett WSTC Can it be attached to all kinds of standards? It looks like, from the video, that in order for the two sides to correspond, is the line connected above the standards. I made a simpler, and much cheaper system, having 2 in...

10. A 17 year old Japanese kid clearing 5.25. The video used to be on stabhochsprung.com. That's 5.25 on a 15' pole. He's about 5'3"/115 pounds. I wish I could remember his name but I think that was his alltime PR. Could it be Sasase Hiroki? http://www.iaaf.org/athletes/biographies/country=JPN...

Re: From Beginner to Bubka
If you stretch, reach or over stride it is virtually impossible to have an upward "impulse"… dj You can have an upward impulse (just ask any high jumper). Unfortunately, to much forward momentum is lost (while being converted to upward momentum), and it really messes up the ability to swi...

Re: From Beginner to Bubka
Hey I actually think what Petrov tried to emphasize was that the "numbers" are important and proportionate according to physics… and those portions are an indicator of your efficiency. An increase in the stiff pole drill should indicate a potential increase in the - full approach bending ...

Re: From Beginner to Bubka
IMHO is it sheer coincidence, that the numbers match. Sure, improving your 6step grip height on a stiff pole will have influence on your take-off point, simply because you improve your application of upwards force, but I wouldn't give damn, if the numbers matches exactly.

"Before this evolves into a peeing contest:" Sorry old son but I am tired of seeing someone continually justify their position on an issue of technique by telling us how many State champions they may or may not have 'coached'. Because as we know, in some States it is possible to be the 'c...

Re: 13 year old boy 4.25m
thanks golfdane for the comment.. the uniqueness of the situation, his technical/physical status, demands it (accurate birth record) be done correctly, plus experience tells me that in this part of the world "proof" of age has always been an issue, if nothing else for passports.. and secu...

Before this evolves into a peeing contest: The result of a collapsed bottom arm is NOT necessarily a fiberface. As the original poster said, does it come from a weak top arm (and possibly being under as well). You do NOT fix fiberface syndrom by pressing with the bottom arm THROUGHOUT the jump, as i...

I see why you have checked up on his birthday. How tall is he? The way he moves, reminds me of someone much older.
Like what I see, and I think he will reach his goal for the near future.

Re: What does the bottom arm do????
Because the chest is driven through and up and in front of the top hand you should be able to swing just like on a high bar. And like how you do not have to pull to swing up on a high bar, you do not have to pull to swing up on the pole vault pole. You should think about pushing that pole up and dr...

Agree with Becca, though I am not a fan of chiropractors. Constant soreness or pain is either a symptom of inadequate rest between training sessions and poor recovery. Food and rest plays a crucial role, and should be evaluated, if you train a lot. Pain could indicate an injury waiting to happen, an...
