Re: Rule Question

The rule (Rule 7-5 Article 25) states: "No person shall be allowed to touch the vaulting pole unless it is falling back and away from the crossbar. If there is a tail wind that might cause a properly released pole to fall forward, the referee should appoint an official and authorize him/her to ...

Re: Mice!

Kind of funny - we had a couple of wild "barn" cats show up in the building we store our pv mats in. The cats were extremely afraid of humans. I walked in the building one day and one of these wild cats dived under the pole vault mats (this was about 6 weeks after placing moth balls under ...

Re: Mice!

We have our mats stored in an old farm barn during the winter - we took a trip from the people who store boats in the midwest. I go to the local "Dollar General Store and purchase $30 dollars worth of moth balls twice a year. We place the moth balls in small plastic dishes around the mats and t...

Most problems with this can be over come by either turning the sweat bands inside out or taking a majic marker and blanking out the oversize logos. I do not think Missouri has had a problem with pv arm bands or sweat bands ...

Re: Article on Mizzou Pole vaulter Brian Hancock

LOL - YES, Todd did play a very major roll in Brian's growth as a pole vaulter - and yes Alan did manage to get several "attempts" to convert this young man to his style of vaulting - Alan remember the time at Todds when we were vaulting and that new born deer fawn walked right into the po...

Re: NCAA D1 MPV - Roth, Peterson 5.50, Whitt, Polacek 5.45

Yesterday when I attended the Men's PV - We noticed that the "stat boards for the field events were not very reliable. Most of the day the stats were at least 3 to 4 vaulters behind and the heights posted and misses recorded were not current. Please do not slam me or Texas A and M as they put o...
