It's simple.... The swing starts as the plant/takeoff ends... Data... The best vaults in the world ONLY take .50 or less of a second to reach a "flat back" position in the swing after takeoff.. The best vaults have a time of 1.47 or less for the full vault from takeoff to max COM above the...

He was out 50cm at the six step mid!!! Not at the takeoff... You can't draw your conclusions from the takeoff point alone!!! 100% of what happened at the plant/takeoff was controlled by what happen BEFORE that point... Coaching is about determining the "cause" and that can only happen corr...

2. The cause of this happening according to Renaud's explanation was that he was 50cms under on the approach run ie., 50cms too close to the box when the pole impacted it.


This is miss information.... He was 50cm OUT at his mid

Good morning, I know this is a very good jump... And one that I have studied and have the data on I posted to get real feed back from you, as coaches, to we could better understand the info we are posting.. So many times, most of the time, we are saying the same things with a slightly different verb...

I've read the same report from Debbie, I just don't see it. Even with the crappy quality from youtube (downloaded, run through Ubersense, and zooming in), should we be able to see a 2 feet difference. i agree i can't see it from the video.. this was the point i was trying to make... to really know ...

As I have said many, many times… it is extremely difficult to know, especially with world class vaulters and long jumpers for that matter, from sight or video, if the run is "OFF" unless you know the exact (within a few inches forward or back) "MID" and the speed/MPS or time for ...
