Re: Does the PV industry need a Universal Flex number on poles?
It would be nice to have a standard and yes I would favor it. On the other hand the real difference in brands is not their mid point flex measurement but instead how they are made and how consistent each pole is made throughout the line. I've got a Pacer Mystic 170 and a Spirit 170, both 12 foot pol...

Re: vaulting in movies
This is an old post but I just found this on You tube. Now you younger folks won't have any idea what this show was. It was on in the 50's. It was called Circus Boy and it starred Micky Dolenz a few years before he became "Mickey" the drummer in the 60's band The Monkeys. Anyway, watch thi...

Re: Getting Fully Inverted
Oh contrair Becca, Yes you can start at 35. They better be able to make three lefts from there holding at 10' 6" actual. Shoot, I'm 59 and I can make it from there! It's when they get up into the mid to high 40's that a three step becomes a big problem. Keep in mind 3 lefts is actually 4 lefts....

Re: Getting Fully Inverted
Wow! (please don't take this wrong) ......but......if this kid is jumping 12' feet with his technique, once he learns how to pole vault he'll be a monster! Lot of work to do coach. His run and pole carry is not very good. He needs a more upright posture which in turn will help high driving knees. Ri...

Re: "Row" the pole
What he may be asking for is continual pressure down with the top hand during inversion. On the other hand if you are new to this event, he may be getting a little ahead of where you currently are technique wise. Later...........Mike

Re: "fiber head"
What does she do with a stiff pole? With an 11' 1' grip she should be able to get it to vertical from a 3 left beginning at 35 feet. The good thing about a stiff pole exercise is that it will really show off flaws in technique. You might try her on that and see what happens paying attention to possi...
