New Balnce Indoor Nationals

Hey I don't know how many people have girls competing this year, but I wonder if anyone has seen what they are doing with the entries. They have two divisions now, elite and emerging elite. The qualifying standard for emerging elite is 10'9" and elite is 12'. Now from time to time they do accep...

Re: ROUND TABLE WITH SERGEY BUBKA

Sorry if I offend anyone, I just think as coaches we must be strict. Don't accept anything but the best.

Re: ROUND TABLE WITH SERGEY BUBKA

I'll tell you what, I think there is a lot of knowledge out there, but I think one of the biggest issues is what you have discussed in the past Allan, it's good enough where I'm from. I have been to some high profile meets and watched some upper echelon athletes competing and I see mediocre techniqu...

Re: What does the bottom arm do????

I know how Kyle feels. If someone had told me about the 6.40 model before I was ready I wouldn't have been convinced either. Also I had tried implementing pulling as Roman described on the board without his plant mechanics and the results were mixed. However once I learned Roman's plant mechanics an...

Re: What does the bottom arm do????

I believe in the 640 model when it comes to straight poling but when I jumps on a bending pole I have a lot more time and driving the chest up and through until I feel pressure seems to be key! Kyle Ellis Now, I hope I'm not misquoting Roman here but he explained to me this summer that a vaulter ha...

Re: The job of the officials and coaches

You should start on the smaller pole. You can always go up after the first attempt if the vaulter blows through, and they should have more confidence at that point. If you start on too big a pole you now have to go down, or worse the athlete can get hurt.

Re: Skip the Small Poles?

Do we seriously only have one person arguing against this guy? I don't know how many people on this board have been advocating putting the standards at 24" or further (60cm in metric) for years. I mean as a coach I have had standards at 20" or even 18" on rare occasions but I don't li...

Re: A Vaulter's Potential

But what I think most people mean by the financial cost especially with no scholarships in DIII is that the DII and DIII schools are already double the price of the DI schools so even if they got no scholarship from the DI school, it would still be just as cheep as getting 50% from a private DII sc...
