Re: Need Nike PVII Size 6
Let me know if you find more than one of this size. I need it too. Why are pole vault shoes so scarce this early in the HS season ( at least up here in the north )?

Re: Need Help with New Pit
I use plastic nesting pallets. They last for years and have no nails or sharp edges to tear the pit. They stack for convenient off season storage and the stacks can be moved around on movers' dollies. I got some through Craigslist and some at a pallet recycler for $5 each. Here are links to two pict...

Re: Pole Vault necklaces
Gerry Kraus from Wisconsin makes a great female vaulter pendant necklace in sterling silver that he sells for $50. He also has a male vaulter charm/pendant. I give one to each of the senior girl vaulters who have vaulted for 3 or 4 years. There are images and ordering information at this link: http:...

I knew I should've put a winking smilie at the end. You do an amazing job. I meant no criticism whatsoever.

New Forum?
Maybe there should be a separate Louis Vuitton forum. There seems to be enough interest.

Re: Homemade pole bag
Well my use for the bag will most likely be for getting from meet to meet and a little bit of car traveling
I was focusing on this statement rather than your first post. The filter sleeve works great for this.

Re: Homemade pole bag
How does $4 sound? Go to Home Depot and buy 100' of 4" drain sleeve fabric filter sock $19.99. Cut off a piece 3' longer than your longest pole. Tie a knot in one end. Turn it inside out so that the knot is on the inside. Fill it with 4 to 6 poles. You can tie the open end or use a small tarp b...

Re: Limit Opening Heights in High School/Youth
I question the basic premise here. How exactly will increasing opening heights increase safety? Every pole vault injury I've witnessed or heard of involved a girl who could easily clear 7 feet or a boy who could easily clear 9 feet. Improving safety is a coaching issue that can't be avoided by adopt...

Re: Getting into College. Any chance for me??
Dartmouth is in the Ivy League conference and it prohibits its schools from giving athletic scholarships. All financial aid is need-based. VaultMarq is right about scores and grades and even with those it is extremely difficult to get in. My younger son really wanted to go to one of the other Ivies ...

Re: Wanted. Original 1950's Gill Sky Pole
Browning Sky Poles were brown in the 1960's. I didn't think that Gill acquired the Sky Pole name until later. In any event, it looks like there is a 16' Browning pole that just got posted for sale in Canada. I'm curious as to why you want one of these and why a 16-footer.

Re: Removing old tape/sticky spray/ handball wax, etc
I've used isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and it works great. You can keep the individual disinfecting wipes in your bag and use them as needed with little mess. Should I be concerned with damaging the resin?

Re: altuis poles
The older Altius poles had the weight label / max handhold line 3" from the top of the pole (like the newer Gill poles with the yellow labels). The more recent Altius poles I've purchased are labeled like a UCS pole, closer to 6" from the top. You should contact Altius directly and ask the...
