Re: GRV: Lavillenie - From Stall Swing to World Record
I don't want to divert from your main points, but I'm just curious if you can readily determine from your analysis of Canag's vid what RL's takeoff trajectory is? Kirk From PVStudent analysis of CoM position curve, it is possible to extract the take-off angle (=angle above horizontal line for first...

Re: GRV: Lavillenie - From Stall Swing to World Record
Thanks PVstudent for this very interesting insight. I am familiar with this kind of kinematic analysis as I had developed such a program in a science project to analyse efficiency in the last phase of long jump (difference between CoM fall position and achieved mark). I totally agree on your remarks...

Lisek 5.90 (NR), Rogowska retires
Piotr Lisek broke the Polish record once again, jumping 5.90 in what looks like a vault-in-a-mall competition in Bad Oeynhausen (Germany). He's now second world best, tied with Shawn Barber. Video of the jump: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10206008498190916&fref=nf Also from Poland, Anna ...

Re: Malmö Games 2015
Video of his jumps during the competition: http://youtu.be/xjX10VU9Oo8 Promising attempts at 6.03 with his new pole, looks like more to come in Prague. Second attempt was very close, he's just not lucky with Swedish crossbars. And D'encausse (his coach) is doing some advertising for the Reno PV Summ...

Impressive height for 5.94 and 6.01 clearances!
The view angle is interesting to observe the take off and how fast the pole moves forward.
Malmö stadium record is 6.10, so he'll eventually try 6.11 on Wednesday...

A better video of the jump: http://www.leichtathletik.de/tv/video-detail/video-detail/detail/piotr-lisek-ist-neuer-koenig-von-dessau/ From a recent pdf document found on the web: height 1.88m, weight 85kg. So basically he is Steven Hooker-like. His coach is Wiaczesław Kaliniczenko, the same as Anna ...

In France the meeting will appear on BeInSport 1 at 22:00, so likely there will be a web feed at that time.
