Re: Isinbayeva condemns homosexuality
Yes. She said that they were disrespectful to her country, and I can't imagine any purpose to the Swedes' display other than to show disrespect for Russia.

Re: Isinbayeva condemns homosexuality
If it is fair to attack her, it is fair to defend her. My respect for her rose exponentially for her comments, and my respect for the world dropped as much for condemning her.

Re: Dying for a PR
It breaks my heart to see someone getting worse and worse the more they try. But that is inevitable with a mushy pole. Rainbow Girl is right. The only way to effectively use the small pole is to shorten your run. Don't purposely run slower with your full run. And implore your team to get you a serie...

Re: Grip tape preference
Sometimes the high school vault officials will check and disqualify poles that are wrapped top-to-bottom in Florida. I used to do that only for my rainy day grip. When the pole got wet, I would wrap top-to-bottom, then drag my hand down the pole a couple of times to roll the tape down and make sizab...

Re: How deep of a scratch is too deep
If you want to destroy the pole, by all means, go ahead. But if you don't, consider this: 1. If the scratch is on the compression side of the pole (like most are), it probably will not cause a break. 2. Breaking a pole does not automatically cause a catastrophic injury (I've broken five without inju...

I still have most of the poles on the list, plus a few extras. I am not home right now to inventory, but PM me and we can possibly work something out.

Re: Improving As Fast As Possible
Do not worry at all about bending the pole. You should not use a pole that you can bend for your first year. You will not be consistent enough to hit the same bend, so you are better off without it. Do not be in such a hurry. It isn't what you do at age 15 that counts. Learn how to do it right, and ...

Re: Pole runs with cones
Step on a wet towel so that you'll leave tracks. Do a pole run, and measure where your steps are.

Wow!! Missouri Class 1A has come along since my day for there to be three over 13'6". I think the state record was 13' 3 3/4" when I graduated.

Re: Poles for Sale in Florida
I have only sold 3 or 4 of the poles on the original list, and I can't remember which ones. I haven't been home much lately. I will be home on May 5, and I can check my inventory then.

Re: Something in my upper thigh (groin maybe?)
No, I doubt that this will go away in a few days. This plagued me for 40 years. Make sure you keep your hips to the front while running, that is, maintain good posture. This might help. If it heals, strengthen the area. Stay off the hurdles for a while.
